Newsletter - February 2009Dear Friends, At last we have received our new sculptures. It took over 5 months from the first purchase to the consignment arriving in Somerset West. It will take another 2 months to re-polish and photograph the new arrivals before they appear on the internet. Anybody interested in buying an Amos Supuni please contact me. I am trying to sell his sculpture on behalf of his wife. To remind you Amos was the sculptor that was poisoned by his friend from Australia. The largest sculpture that is available is over 2 meters tall. Below are sample pictures of some of the available sculptures. Amos Supuni
Through a golfing friend, I have received the commission to sell 4 beautiful Bernard Matamera sculptures - see below. A collector who lived in Zambia and retired to Cape Town originally bought these sculptures. They were eventually sold on his deceased estate sale where my friend bought them. They are all in excellent condition and for their asking price very, very inexpensive. I can assure you the asking price is well below market value. The reason for their sale is that the friend has sold his house in Franschhoek and does not have any storage space for them. Bernard Matamera
Lately I have had many interested inquiries for first generation artists. I am fortunate to be able to say that we have a large collection of Joram Mariga, Nicholas Mukomberanwa, Henry - of Tengenenge - Munyaradzi, Boira Mteki, Joshi Manzi, Claud Nyanhongo, Fanizani Akuda, Bernard Matamera and Albert Mamrura. Should anybody be interested in these collectors’ items please let me know. Sculptures from many of these artists are no longer available or extremely expensive. I am fortunate in that I bought the sculptures in the 90s and can now offer them at reasonable prices to interested parties. First Generation Sculptures
Should you be interested is any of these sculptures or know anyone who may be, please let me know. As you are all aware, Jannetta got married and moved to Kuruman as her new husband is working on the mines in the area. This is the middle of nowhere. A young lady, Tarryn, has joined in her place. She has placed Art Creations Africa onto Facebook so that our customer base can be more interactive with each other and us. Tarryn has asked you to show off your sculptures by posting photographs of them in their new homes onto the Facebook group. Back to Newsletters >> |
