Vimbai Mashaya I am Vimbai Mashaya born 1986 I did both my primary and secondary education at Mazarura Scholl in Nyanga District. I started sculpting while I was still at school where I received inspiration from my brothers who worked in Greendale as a family workshop. I started selling my sculptures at Nyamhuka Craft Centre.
I was mainly taught by my brother Cephas Mashaya who showed me the way out of only carving craft. I gained experience through assisting him and now have 5 years experience in producing sculpture. I am looking at being promoted by my clients. I have become a teacher at the rehabilitation centre in Ruwa teaching the caring of craft to disabled students. I work on a variety of different types of stones such as Springstone, lemon opal and opal. My sculptures have been sold in the following countries USA, UK, Canada, South Korea, China, Germany, Holland, South Africa, Sweden and in Zimbabwe. Artist's Sculpture (Click to view):
