Robin Masaya


Robin Masaya, born 16 March 1968, in Nyanga. He is from the Manica tribe and their totem is Shumba (the lion).

He is a third generation sculptor.

Robin comes from a large family; he has three brothers and four sisters. His family is very religious.

His brothers Eddie, Lucian and his cousin Moses Masaya all sculpt. Robin left school in 1986, and has had a good education. He spent a few years working until he decided to follow in his brotherīs footsteps.

Robinīs aim is to improve his work and become well known. His outside interests involve his religion.

Robinīs work can be seen in various galleries in Harare and at The Gallery Shona Sculpture, Chapungu Village.
