Lucky Mupinga


Lucky Mupinga, born in 1958 in the Guruve district, Lucky belongs to the Muzesuru tribe. He is married and has three children.

Lucky left school in 1976 and started working as a driver until 1982. He started sculpturing in 1983 and was greatly influenced by his uncle Akence Makore, a popular and well-known sculptor who died tragically in 1988.

Lucky´s ambition is to become a well-known artist worldwide. He concentrates all the time to improve his work, choosing his stone with care and produces charming and beautiful pieces of sculpture.

He is a member of the Gavazi sculpture community in Guruve.

Lucky´s work has been exhibited in-group exhibitions in Germany, Russia, Romania, France, Geneva, Australia and Czechoslovakia.

Lucky is also considered as one of the best third generation sculptors. He is undoubtedly a sculptor of great potential.
