Jacob Chikumbirike
Jacob Chikumbirike, born on the 2 February 1962 in Zuyambe, small-scale farms.
He is one of a big family of ten boys.
Jacob did his primary education at St. Anthony School. At the age of 15, with the help from his brothers, he was able to carve some heads in wood.
Due to financial problems, he could not further his secondary education, so he became serious in the carving business, which then forced him to immigrate to the capital city.
Taking his time on the heads and figures, which attracted many people, he won several contracts in South Africa, Malawi, Namibia and Botswana.
Of his work he says, ´´My aim is to be the best, the best last forever´´.
