Godfrey Katutwa

Godfrey Katutwa, born on the 30th April 1967 and was educated at the Jombe Primary School in Honde Valley - Mutare in Manicaland, Zimbabwe.

Godfrey hardly hears or speaks. He was brought up in sculpting by Claud Nyanhongo in 1988 and since he is hard of hearing and finds it difficult to talk, it is very hard to communicate with others, but he can express his artistic views in stone. His talent is from God and none of his family members have ever been involved in artistic creations.

Godfrey is well versed with animals, spirits and human figures. He really does have a voice in stone.

He loves working with Springstone and Nyanga Serpentine.

Godfrey says ´´My work will stand for my voice to the world. I cannot speak or hear properly, but I have got a word to the world in stone´´.
