Collen comes from a prominent sculptorīs family. His father Claud belongs to the first generation of the Shona Sculptors. Most of his brothers and sisters are into sculpting. Gideon and Agnes are already recognised internationally, but Brian and Collen follow their footsteps to International recognition. Collen wants to combine his profession as a sculptor with coaching other artist to improve their position. His Marketing education gives him a very good base to supporting others. He is working together with World Art Foundation in developing a plan. To realise this, Collen has already held a three months workshop in the Nertherland organised by the World Art Foundation. Collenīs work shows that he is a searcher. He searches for forms hidden in stone. On the other hand his work is abstract, on the other he makes figurative sculptures with sharp lines and fine finishes. He let himself in spirit with the stone. His work develops more and more simplicity. He prefers working on hard stones like the Springstone, Lopidolite, Leopard rock and Green Serpentine. When his sculpture is finished it gives him satisfaction and he searches for perfection. In addition to all this, Collen likes to work on a quiet and peaceful environment. He is inspired by nature and all these qualities prevail in his works as well as his personality. EXHIBITIONS:
