Norbert Shamuyarira
Norbert Shamuyarira, born on the 3rd May 1962, in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West, Zimbabwe.
He has four brothers none of whom sculpt. Norbert left school after completing his junior school education. He is not married.
He started sculpting in 1979. He believed he had no means of support, until under the guidance and help of Bernard Takawira. He spent four years working under the guidance of Bernard. He now works from his home in a Harare suburb.
Norbert finds that if he doesn´t sculpt all the time, he feels incomplete. He finds sculpting a form of expression. In his sculptures, he expresses what he sees in day-to-day happenings.
He wishes to remain a sculptor and become well known. His work has been exhibited in all Nedlaw exhibitions held at The National Gallery of Zimbabwe since 1982.
His work has been shown on the International Group exhibitions in Germany, America, Australia and Europe.
