Gladmore Chikumbirike Gladmore was born on the 14th of December 1961, in Wedza. He is married, with a son. Gladmore left school in 1975 after finishing junior school.
He started carving in wood in 1978 and then changed to Ivory. After the elephant-culling ban in 1985 Gladmore converted to carving stone; mainly Ruby Verdite and Opal. His cousins, Noah and Peter Chikumbiriki, played a great part in his life and were a great influence in his future chosen career of "realistic carving". Gladmore comes from a large family of carvers, two brothers and ten cousins who are all known locally and internationally for their Ruby Verdite carvings. Gladmore has exhibitioned at the John Mann Gallery. Artist's Sculpture (Click to view):
