Edmore Sharini

Edmore Sharini was born in January 1967 but died in 1995. However, he was of the Manyungwe tribe, in Mozambique and his totem was the "Gumbo".

Edmore arrived in Zimbabwe in 1985 and was married with two children.

He took sculpting as a way of earning an income, as he had no other means of supporting himself and his family.

He did admit that a great part of the influence came from his grandfather who used to carve in wood.

Edmore was educated to a certain extent in Mozambique, but was unable to either read or write.

He enjoyed working with serpentines, opal and Springstone, and took part in group exhibitions at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe.
