Dickson Matorwa The first born in a family of five and educated to secondary level, Dickson Matorwa, born in 1975, began working with wood, clay and paper from an early age. In 1991 he discovered his interest in stone and in 1992 made his first sculpture. From the feedback he got from this sculpture, he decided to continue his work.
Through difficulties and life’s hardships he used the stone to express his feelings. His parents passed away in 1999, which left him with a family to look after. Most of Dickson's works mirror the kind of life he has led, being part of a large family and working hard in order to survive. Artist's Sculpture (Click to view):
