Brian Takawira Brian Takawira was born on the 23rd of February in 1990. He has two brothers. He attended Hatfield Primary School and completed his secondary education at Mount St Mary’s High School in Wedza in 2006.
Brian took an interest in sculpture at an early age. It is no wonder, as he is the son of Gerald and the grandson of John Takawira, one of the most respected artists of the first generation sculptors. From an early age of 11 he would assist his father with the more tedious work of sandpapering sculptures to get them smooth. It was a part time hobby for young Brian, but it kindled his interest and in 2007 he began sculpting full time at Tsindi Lodge along Airport Road, Hatfield, Harare, Zimbabwe, and is producing breathtaking stone sculptures, going to different parts of the world.
