Bizeck Majengwa
Bizeck Majengwa a Zimbabwean stone sculptor born in 1974 he comes from Chiweshe area in the Mazowe District in the Northern of Zimbabwe. A married man with two elder brothers. He stayed with Biggie Kapeta a second generation sculptor who urged him to carve. Biggie knew Bizeck from his school days he used to draw pictures and carve craft. What is the making of stirs and wooden plate he was keen and has the stamina of doing art of various shapes and subjects.
Tapfuma Gutsa, a second generation sculptor, taught young artist Bizeck informally how to carve. Before learning how to carve Bizeck worked at the Coca-Cola Company as a general worker. Bizeck started carving full time in 1987. He had no parents who could take care of him. Bizeck enjoyed showing his talent and receiving compliments. He had no difficulty in creating and carving, as he was blessed with a creative mind. His best creations are female forms and likes carving torso´s and bathing torso´s. He generally uses stone (opaline) with colours. In his spare time he is a musician.
Bizeck has exhibited and worked in Germany and Netherlands where his torso´s received recognition. His insperation and great support comes from his wife.
